Passengers gather on the quay, and the fare is collected by crew members once the vessel is underway. The dock can accommodate two vessels simultaneously, though only one scheduled departure operates each morning. The surrounding area offers no food vendors or services, so travelers should carry water and provisions for the crossing. Parking is informal, with space for a dozen vehicles on the gravel apron above the dock. If arriving by hired car, confirm whether the driver will wait or return at a prearranged time, as no taxi service operates in Koman village. The return ferry from Fierza reaches the Koman ferry terminal in early afternoon, typically between 14:00 and 15:00 depending on weather and passenger load. Mobile phone coverage is intermittent along the reservoir, so departure and arrival coordination should be settled before boarding. The landscape surrounding the embarkation point is steep and exposed, with no shelter from sun or rain. In summer, the concrete quay radiates heat from mid-morning onward. In cooler months, wind funnels down the canyon and makes the wait before departure uncomfortable. The ferry boarding process is informal and first-come in seating, with no reserved places or advance ticketing.
